Absinthe Spoons

The ritual of the perforated spoon, designed to accommodate a sugar cube, could not have existed prior to 1850 because sugar cubes as we know them today had not yet been invented. Originating in the 1870s, absinthe spoons popularity grew in the 1880s and 1890s, and they were frequently imprinted with business names or logos as advertising. These traditional, antique absinthe spoons are still available on the market; however they can be very expensive as some absinthe antique spoons can even fetch thousands of dollars.

All of our absinthe slotted spoons are quality chromium plated replicas made as close to the traditional spoons as possible. These spoons are being used for the traditional way of serving absinthe, often with an absinthe glass and absinthe fountain. Our absinthe spoons are crafted from either high-quality chrome over brass or stainless steel. This ensures that the spoons will not tarnish and that they may be washed in the dishwasher. You can now even receive some of our spoons free of charge as part of our absinthe special offers.
