Absinthe Verdoyante is one of the latest additions to our range of fine spirits. It is bitterish, green spirit tasting of aniseed and fennel with extract of wormwood, coriander and a distillate made from herbs and spices. Absinthe Verdoyante stands for tradition and tested quality. Bohemian absinthe recipes have always meant that much less anise is used in local production, thus Absinthe Verdoyante does not turn milky, or 'louche' when water is added. Did you know that...?
The modern liquor known as absinthe was first produced in the late 18th century in the Val-de-Travers region of Switzerland, where a bounty of wormwood and other alpine herbs grows wild. Pierre Ordinaire, a French doctor, is believed to have invented absinthe in 1792 as a potent patent medicine, although "bon extrait d'absinthe" had been advertised in the region as early as 1769. By the late 1790s, Ordinaire's herbal elixir had already acquired the nickname La Fee Verte - Green Fairy.
Got this Drink about a month ago and just had it 2 weeks ago. Me and the guys were impressed with the drink. We did it in shots right out of the fridge. It went down rough the first two shots and after that it went down like water. You will not be seeing fairies, but still well worth it. I will be purchasing more as time goes on.
Just received my bottle of absinthe today, and may I say I'm no less that Amazed by this company. They are right on the money with shipping times ect. and if you have a question, it's answered. As for the drink, I'm very impressed two or three shots and :) Good for first timers cause it doesn't put you way out there. Thanks Max, Montana, United states (12 days from their ship date)"<br />
I had gotten my bottle of Verdoyante in the mail today. I was very excited to try it as it was my first time trying Absinthe. I just drank 2 glasses using the original technique and that was just enough to make me feel great. It is a very strong tasting drink, tasting very much so like black liquerish, but yet it went down very smooth. I will definitely come back to absinthe original for another bottle.<br />
I was so suprised to see this very unique liquor on the web, as the first time I encountered it was actually the first drink in the first country I visited in Europe!! I had such good memories of Karlovy Vary, in Czech Republic, and ran into this liquor by accident. I had wanted a drink, so I went walking down the beautiful streets along the river, and found a liquor store - they only had Becherovka, the gracious store owner ask if I wanted to try some, he then took the cap off a bottle poured some in, and I was hooked... regretably I only bought 1 bottle, as I didn't want to start my tour of Europe lugging a bottle of booze around, now I will simply order from you!! Thanks for supplying!!"<br />
