The original rye whiskey matures for 7 years in oak barrels deep in The Green Tree Distillery cellar, five meters underground where it takes on its own story of the oldest European distillery. For the the first four years this rye whiskey matures to a softness and fruity taste. After four years, the blend master personally oversees the perfectly delicate taste with the typical sweet aroma of freshly cut rye. After careful selection, only the highest quality rye distillate from the best casks has the honor of maturing for another three years, thus obtaining complexity and exceptional finesse. After bottling, bottles are numbered by hand. The manual numbering of the bottles allows knowing the limited number produced, making them unique and guaranteeing their premium quality.
Only three basic raw ingrediences are being used: spring water drawn from a deep 10,000-year-old spring, grain, and yeast. To make this eceptional Old Hunter's Selection Rye Whisky, mainly rye is used, which makes this rye whiskey rare, delicate, and harmonious. The spirit is being distillated three times after the fermentation and before starting its ageing journey in old, bourbon oak barrels.
The Original Czech brand Old Hunter's is produced by the oldest distillery in Europe called Palírna U Zeleného stromu (The Green Tree Distillery) which is even older than the oldest Irish and Scottish distilleries. I had finished a job and felt like I had a reason to celebrate this evening, so I decided to celebrate by opening the box and twisting off the lid and having a shot. Oh my, it smelled wonderful, very easy on the nose. Then I pour a shot, and the taste absolutely blew me away. That old world craftsmanship, the full flavor, the sweetness. I am truly astounded by the shear smoothness, the fullness of the flavor, and the taste of this amazing whiskey. So amazing is"Old Hunter's", that it has destroyed me from drinking any other rye whiskey, because I have never in my entire life have tasted anything to even come close to or even to be compared to it! I am so glad I ordered this bottle . It's bottle # 4030 out of 11,502. Thank you 'Absinthe Originale' for carrying this beautiful old world elixir. Kudos to the Craft Master 👏
