Absinthe Innocent is a great absinthe for the first time drinker and due to its lower content of alcohol, it is also ideal for women. It is also great to be used as a main ingredient in cocktail recipes. Absinthe Original Innocent is a genuine Verte Suisse absinthe liquor, distilled using 11 plants, including angelica and grande wormwood. Steeping a mixture of aromatic plants in the distillate produces its natural green color.
The taste of this real absinthe is just as absinthe was meant to be. It accomplishes what many other absinthes are just trying to accomplish. It is a refined combination that makes no attempts at being overly complex just to stand out. The background herbs dance around the dominant flavors in a delicate and complimentary way. Now, for the first time since 1912, you too can legally partake of absinthe, thanks to the European Union's pointing out a loophole in the U.S. ban. Absinthe Innocent is a fine liquor based on anise, fennel, and wormwood. These and other herbs give the fabled Fée Verte, or Green Fairy, her grassy color. When the chlorophyll dies, absinthe turns, like fallen leaves, to a highly prized dark amber hue. Absinthe Innocent has been created in response to many requests we have had for a real, thujone absinthe that is lower in alcohol, is slightly more bitter but which still has all the characteristics that give absinthes their reputation. Absinthe Innocent has similar alcohol volume as Chartreuse absinthes (usually 38% - 55% alcohol) but unlike Chartreuse, Innocent is not a sweet absinthe. It is a fine addition to our range of original absinthes.

From 1875 to 1913 the annual consumption of absinthe per inhabitant in France increased fifteen times, by 1913 drinkers were consuming 10.5 million gallons of absinthe a year. The French referred to this wild era as "the great collective binge", for it seemed as if the entire nation was drunk on absinthe.

Ordered a bottle for me and my friends as a special Christmas get together drink. It arrived fairly quickly, a little over two weeks. It was packaged very well, no chance of breakage. It smelled awesome, was really looking forward to trying it out. We drank it with the ice cold water and one sugar cube. Two ounces of absinthe and three ounces of water. I think maybe it wasn't enough water because we all agreed the taste was really strong. We ended up drinking the rest of the bottle as shots. Overall an awesome experience and we will all be ordering more soon. Just be prepared for a very strong, distinct flavor. Enjoy!<br />
I recently ordered a bottle of Absinthe Innocent. It arrived promptly and safely. However, as I tried over and over again to light my spoon with sugar containing a generous amount of liquor, it didn't stay lit for more than a few seconds, and it never carmelized the sugar. I finally gave up and sipped 3 shots. It was a nice buzz, but I think vodka and Red Bull would have the same affect. I strongly suggest you save your money and buy your favorite brand of liquor and mix it with Red Bull. <br /> A lot of hype for nothing--sorry, that that's my honest opinion.<br /> Esther from Monterey Park, CA<br />
This took a while to come in the mail because of ordering it with a money order, but it was well worth the wait. The box was very neatly packaged and shipped as promised. I've always had a curiosity about absinthe so this was my first time buying it. The flavors are very different from any alcoholic beverage I've ever tried, somewhat similar to licorice, but much more complex. I am not much of a drinker, but I sure could drink this stuff more often. It gave me an overall good feeling and a good buzz. Good stuff. Thanks!
