3. Absinthe Featured In A New Book on Hotel Living
In the new book on hotel living and hotel culture called The Suite Life: The Magic and Mystery of Hotel Livin g I included a section on a trip I made through Northern Italy to explore some of the little hotels along the coast - it was a section that almost didn't make it into the book... because of absinthe.
While in a sleepy little hotel in Ventimiglia I stepped across the street for a drink in a tiny little bar that looked like it had been there long enough to have served Julius Caesar himself. I noticed a bottle of absinthe high on the shelf and gestured that I would like some. The pretty Italian bartender prepared the drink and it was wonderful, as was the second and third one.
I remember walking back across the street and remember writing some notes in my suite - but in the morning it was as if the hard drive in my skull had been wiped completely clean. I didn't feel hung over in the least but I could not remember where I was, in what country I was, or what I was doing there. I looked out the window at the lovely Italian landscape and thought I might be in France. It wasn't until I looked at some hotel stationery that it all started coming back. Before leaving Ventimiglia I stepped across the street and asked if I might be allowed to buy the rest of the bottle of absinthe I drank from - clearly it was wicked stuff!

King of Spirits Gold - 100mg of thujone in the bottle!
Quote: "Authentic absinthe has been available in the US for several months"
Untrue. Authentic absinthe contains thujone and US absinthe doesn't. The FDA ban thujone and therefore it had to be removed before it
was allowed.
Quote: "Unlike absinthe substitutes such as Absente, these contain Grand Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium), the definitive ingredient of
absinthe"
Untrue. Majority of US brands and Absente are basically the same thing. Absente uses Artemisia
abrotanum (Southern Wormwwod) & US absinthe uses grande wormwood with the thujone REMOVED. They are one and the same in that respect. Absinthe,
as drunk by Degas, Hemmingway etc., contained thujone and perhaps at levels of 260mg (according to Dr Niels Arnold of Kansas University).

5. New Absinthe Storage Centre
We've been experiencing some delays recently caused mainly by product shortages. Majority of our products are hand made and due to an unexpected overwhelming demand, we were unable to ship all orders on time. We worked hard to ensure that a sufficient quantity of the whole range is in stock again without any possible decrease in quality. That is why we've moved to a much larger warehouse and increased our storage capacity.
