Just reading the review from the disappointed Canadian consumer... obviously his expectations were much, much greater than possibly could have been delivered. The King Gold contains 100mg thujone/kg, the highest level that current OriginalAbsinthe.com can produce. Lore has it that Hemingway, Van Gogh and Napoleons army were consuming quantities of thujone at of least 300 mg if not more. This individual was under some type of mis guided expectations that King Gold is some type of hallucinogen of the highest degree, which is not. What it is is 140 proof Anise liquor that contains 100mg of Thujone. I am a chemist by trade, so please perform an internet search on Thujone for more elaborate explanations. In the defense of King Gold, it is wonderful stuff and is for the person who enjoys his or her libations very seriously and would like to experience the pleasant and SUBTLE effects of the oil of wormwood (Thujone). It is NOT for the delusional who are expecting a peyote type experience, it is for the appreciators of the flavor of Absinthe with the unique side effects that Thujone offers. I have previously offered two testimonials in 2008 and stand by them. I am preparing to order several bottle of King Gold yet once again, its not cheap, but you cannot find it in the USA whatsoever and its worth the price and wait.
